Homework in Kindergarten
Homework should be easy, interactive, and a great bonding time for you
and your student!
Purpose of Homework The purpose of homework is to reinforce previously learned skills from the classroom. It should be stree-free and a time for you and your student to connect and discuss what he or she has been learning in school. Time I never want a student to become frustrated with homework. Written homework should not take more than 10-15 minutes. If it does, stop, put it away, and write me a note! Written homework: Packets Your student will be given a monthly packet at the beginning of each month. Because schedules can become overwhelming, please adjust the written homework schedule to your needs. I will only check the homework packets once a week, Fridays, and collect the packet at the end of each month to see how the student is progressing. Please always keep your student's packet in their take-home folders so I can access the packets if need be during the school day. Reading Please, please, always read with your student EVERY NIGHT for at least 15 minutes. This is vital to their learning. As the year progresses, they will be able to read more and more to you, which should be encouraged! | I have realized that due to the unique font used to create the homework packets, they do not download properly on most computers. If you need another copy of the packet, please just let me know and I will be sure you receive it! Thank you! |
